the daily routine in our 1/2 day Kindergarten here at
Melville Elementary School
in the Portsmouth, Rhode
Island School District. We recite
The Melville Pledge daily. The AM Session runs from 8:30-11:05,
and the PM session, from 12:05-2:30. Rest assured that your child is
in a very safe and nurturing environment. The
staff are highly qualified teachers and professionals who work their
hardest to fulfill the Goal
and Mission Statement. The Children's Work
is very exciting and viewable. Don't forget to visit the

The Word Bag focuses on Language Development with an effort to meet Literacy Standards.
The Kid Writing
Word
Bags will go
home on Tuesday's and are due the next day. We will
continue to work on one word a week. We are
learning all the letters and sounds together. Help your child sound out
words with the
"Sound Me Out"poster.
Discovery
Bags
Beginning in November each
child will alternate between a Reading Bag and a Math Bag. Help your
child draw a picture in response to any items in the bag, then have
your child write one sentence describing the picture
(Kid
Writing).
Earobics
Games to help your child "hear" the sounds that the letters make!!!
